While students worked to construct four opossum dens in the woodshop, in the art studio, we printed our very own collective comic book zine! Throughout the week, we spent time extensively researching opossums, taking note of everything from where in the world they live to what they prefer to eat, their sworn animal kingdom allies and enemies, and quirky body abilities! Equipped with this information, students spent time in pairs drafting a “day in the life” comic strip imagining opossum characters, absurd and realistic dialogue, and silly situations.
