We’re proud to announce that Girls Garage was selected for a She Builds Grant from KEEN Utility! The general operating award is $5,000, with an additional $3,000 KEEN boot stipend for our fearless builder girls and gender-expansive youth. Launched earlier this year, KEEN’s She Builds Grant Program supports nonprofits that provides trade skills education and networking for girls and women.
“We can’t wait to start making a positive impact on Girls Garage programming,” says Mark Steinbuck, the philanthropy manager of KEEN. The company’s philanthropic efforts are impressive—since the company’s 2004 inception, it’s distributed more than $19 million in grants, donations, and resources to nonprofits and educational institutions. Additionally, KEEN is dedicating to creating sturdy work boots made for tradeswomen that rival the quality and durability of men’s, an all-too-common disparity in the workwear industry.
We’re so grateful for philanthropic partners like KEEN, and we can’t wait to wear our boots with pride!
