Materials and processes: Chop saw, jigsaw, drill, driver
Session: Wood Class, Winter 2019
Builders: 10 girls, ages 9-13
Description: In order to create these stylish end comfortable wooden floor chairs, girls first needed to cut swoopy sides out of plywood using jigsaws. They then used the chop saw to cut 21 1×2 slats for their seats. The created L-shaped bracings for the back and bottom of their chairs by connecting two 2x4s, and used a third 2×4 as the top rail (sturdily connecting the two plywood sides). They sanded for a smooth finish, and used drills and drivers to install the whole thing together.
