We’re honored to share that Women’s Catalytic Fund from the East Bay Community Foundation has awarded Girls Garage $15,000! This award will fund the toolbox float for the San Francisco Pride Parade built by our high school students. Since 1999, the Women’s Catalytic Fund has granted $3.7 million to Bay Area non-profits “working to end gender-based inequity.” In the past few years, the WCF has focused on “catalytic giving,” with more frequent grant-making to accelerate frontline change within communities like ours. This award also underwrites operational costs of the Young Women’s Design + Building Institute, a weeklong construction intensive for high school girls and gender-expansive youth. The program is free for all youth to attend.
